By the end of this revision course, students will:

• To analyse competing sociological perspectives on the role of education in contemporary society.
• To evaluate how well they account for the changes in the education system in contemporary Britain over the past 50 years.
• To examine the impact of educational policies since 1979.
• To identify how the lecture evidences Learning Objectives A01, A02 A03
• Evidence A-Level History Learning Objective A02: To analyse and evaluate appropriate source material, primary and/or contemporary to the period, within its historical context.
• Evidence A-Level History Learning Objective A03: To analyse and evaluate, in relation to the historical context, different ways in which aspects of the past have been interpreted.
